In March of 2015, my 26 year old sister Julie discovered a lump on her breast. Immediately a phone call was made to her doctor, the result: she might have breast cancer. Julie's life-long dream of teaching 1st grade, living in paradise and continuing her new adventure in Palm Harbor, Florida had suddenly come to a screaming halt. Sure enough, after several visits to the doctors, numerous tests and an appointment at Mass General, our biggest fear was confirmed. Julie was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Duct Breast Cancer that has spread to her lymph-nodes.
It's been difficult watching our fun, outgoing, and loving Julie change fighting this disease. Days that were spent with her 1st graders, weekends at the beach with friends and flying in for a visit with our mom, have turned into time spent at doctors offices and treatment facilities. Although she continues to fight through chemo, it certainly has taken its toll on her. With plans for upcoming surgeries, and several rounds of radiation, Julie could use our support. Julie's friends and I have created this campaign to do just that. Funds raised through this site will go towards her continued fight in, and ultimate defeat of, this battle with cancer.
