Hello All:My beautiful sister recently talked me into running a half-marathon that honored my hero, my Dad. Our mother, however, fought bravely with multiple myeloma for eight years, but succumbed to the disease 15 years ago this May. I’ve agreed to raise funds for the International Myeloma Foundation again this year not by organizing a race, but by running the SF Marathon. I need your help (again). I am asking all to make a fully tax-deductible donation that will benefit research efforts. No amount is too small. The International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to finding a cure for multiple myeloma. Founded in 1990 by Susie Novis, the late Brian Novis and Dr. Brian G.M. Durie, the IMF is governed by a Board of Directors and guided by a Scientific Advisory Board. With a positive and expansive outreach to more than 180,000 people in 113 countries, the IMF offers educational patient seminars, clinical conferences, scientific workshops, grant programs, patient and family support groups as well as cutting edge treatment research. The IMF believes that no one should have to face the diagnosis of myeloma alone. I encourage you to visit myeloma.org to see how research has made tremendous progress since our mother’s diagnosis.
