BENEFITING: SOUTHERN VERMONT THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER INC
Become one of our Jump Start Heroes!
SVTRC is a non-profit organization located in southern Vermont. The Mission of the Southern Vermont Therapeutic Riding Center is to enrich, educate and expand the lives of individuals with special needs through Equine Assisted Activities & Therapies (EAAT).
We believe in the powerful benefits that Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies can provide those with special needs. Participation fees are significantly subsidized to keep our services affordable. This means public support is crucial to the success of our mission.
There are many benefits to participating in Equine Assisted Activities including the physical benefits of improved balance and coordination, posture improvement, increased range of motion, and passive stretch for tight muscles; the emotional benefits of improved self confidence and esteem, development of trust in others, and bond between human and animal; and the cognitive benefits of improved gross and fine motor skills, improved self awareness and proprioception, improved focus and listening skills, and increased vocabulary; plus many more!
The Southern Vermont Therapeutic Riding Center is expanding to a new location in Wilmington, VT on June 11th. We are very excited that this new location will allow us to share our program with more individuals who can experience the many benefits that Equine Assisted Activities like therapeutic riding and horsemanship can provide. Individuals in our program range from children with developmental disabilities and emotional disorders to our veterans returning from war.
Can you help us jump start our expansion? We are raising funds to help off-set the costs of the expanding to a new site; expenses such as trailering a horse to the new site, moving our teaching materials, furniture and office supplies, paying for additional certifications, and other expansion costs. Your support will help keep putting smiles on the faces of our riders like Meghan!
Anything you give will be greatly appreciated by SVTRC, but more importantly, by those who benefit from our services. Thank you.
