My name is Edith Kyampeire and I teach English and Religious Education to Level 3 students at Juru Primary School in Nakivale Refugee Settlement. I am one of 26 teachers at our school where we have 2,000 children.
On June 20, I’m running with my team so that our school can hopefully get some more sports equipment. Our students like to play futbol, volleyball and netball. We need balls and nets for all of the sports. We also need sports shoes. The students will share the shoes, but we need enough for all of the players on the field.
Sports are so important, especially with so many students at our school. The chance to play and be active helps them to break their boredom during the school day and pay better attention to their subjects. And that will help us teachers, too!
