Just a little help for Transportation
Organized by: Goinne Thorn
I know that this cause may seem selfish, or unworthy, but I ask that you read my story. My name is Nikki Roberts. I am 26, and I've been chronically homeless for most of my adult life. This has been due to a mix of mental disabilities (which I had trying to ignore to an unhealthy degree) and bad choices in who I trusted. I am now getting the mental health care that I need, but I'm still struggling to find work, and of course, housing. Currently I am awaiting a call from a rehabilitation and job training facility, so that I can hopefully finally learn the skills needed to hold steady employment. I am searching for manageable work as well, in the meantime. I have no family, as my mother was estranged from hers, and I never knew my birth father. I'm not meaning this to be a sob story, many are in my shoes or worse. Hopefully one day I can use my experiences to help others, but right now I need some help. Help that I'm hoping I can get here. I'm not asking for much, just enough money to get a beach bike, so that I can get around a little easier, and be able to get to and from work consistently when I find one. Any extra funds, if any, will go to basic needs, like parts for my vape so that I don't smoke that much or at all, hygiene supplies, arts and crafts supplies to help keep me sane, and any special clothing or braces I need to help me work with less pain. If my story has touched you, though it may not be much, I would be eternally grateful if you would donate. Many blessings to any who've read my story, even if you cannot donate.
