Ben's Run is an annual 5K that raises money for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Children's National Medical Center, Washington, DC. Ben Goldfogle passed away from an infection resulting from Acute Myeloid Leukemia on September 3, 2009, at Children’s National Medical Center after a six-year battle. Ben was 12 years old. His parents, and our friends, started this run three years ago in his honor and to raise money for cancer research.
My mother, Pearl Wallace, passed away on June 27, 2009 due to complications related to a form of cancer known as Uterine Sarcoma after a five-year battle. Pearl was 71 years old. We've been moved by the strength, love, and faith demonstrated by the Goldfogle family in establishing Ben’s Run. What better way to honor our mother than to support a cause that represents the principles she lived her life by and that helps find a cure for a disease that has impacted all of our lives.
Pearl and Ben were fighters! Please join our family in the fight against cancer by sponsoring us in Ben’s Run 2013 and helping us achieve our goal of $1,500. Yes, David is running a 5K! Anything is possible...
