BENEFITING: SECOND CHANCE DOG RESCUE
Bug was found terrified in the middle of a busy highway, hunkered down, and ready to die. God was watching over her though because right before she was almost hit by an SUV, Terry, a foster for Second Chance Dog Rescue leaped out of his car and grabbed her. She was skinny, obviously hadn't eaten in a few days, covered in fleas, and clearly scared out of her mind. Little did we know her current condition was much worse than it appeared. She was quickly taken to Second Chance Headquarters where she was given a bath and treated for fleas and ticks to ensure they would stay away. She was then placed in a foster home, fed well, and we began advertising her as a lost dog. Her personality blossomed, and she became happy and playful. She was taken to the vet first thing Monday, and the vet had some news about her past. First, she is a young dog probably 2 years old, maybe 3 at the max. Second, she has several stainless steel BBs lodged into her stomach, chest, and sides where someone had shot her. Third, based on the condition of her teets, she has been bred every single time she has gone into heat, most likely starting at a very young age. Fourth, she is heart worm positive. The rescue was able to spay her, but just took in their fourth and fifth heart worm positive dog for just this year, and needs your help to give Bug the treatments that will save her live. Please donate so Bug can finally receive the life she has always deserved.
