THE STORY:

Please join The McCarthy Family as they begin to ask...

Why were the remains of Detective McCarthy secretly exhumed from his final resting place?

Justice for Jerry is our way to give Detective McCarthy the voice he rightfully deserves.

Your generous donation will support the family’s fight to find answers to their father's disinterment.  Also, these donations will help start a scholarship fund for Jerry's 6 grandchildren - Dylan, Grace, Lane, Lindsey, Jack and Sophie... They loved their Papa Jerry.

The Story:
On Monday, June 22rd, just after Father's Day weekend, it was discovered that the body of Officer William "Jerry" McCarthy IV was removed from his final resting place at Crestview Memorial Park in Grove City, PA to an unknown location. All that was left at the burial site was a disturbed patch of earth -- No flowers, no marker, no trace. Management for the cemetery refused to speak to any of Jerry's relatives, sighting a "privacy policy" that was put into place. Our family was horrified to learn that this had been done with no warning, no notification and no consent.

Jerry was a Law Enforcement Officer for over 35 years. He was killed in the Line of Duty on May 2, 2013. He was given a State funeral, full military honors, a Catholic burial and was laid to rest in a family burial plot next to his grandparents Benny + Teresa DeSanto, whom were first generation Italian immigrants, and plots designated for his parents, Bill + Clair McCarthy --  All had deep roots in Grove City community.

After a brief social media campaign it was learned that Jerry's wife, had Jerry's body disinterred and relocated to a cemetery 30 miles away. The exact location of Jerry's body has still not been confirmed by Jerry's wife.  She has made no attempt to contact Jerry’s family directly to this day.  Jerry's sister-in-law, his wife’s own sister was shocked to learn that Jerry had been disinterred and moved.

Jerry was a good man.  A gentle soul.  He loved his family, his extended family, and his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement. He loved his community and the people he served. He loved Jesus and walked beside him all of his life. He was a good man and led a good life.  Did he deserve to be treated this way?  Was proper respect given to his remains?  Was the Catholic Church notified of his disinterment?

Unfortunately Jerry's wife, nor her legal counsel, will not willingly respond to requests for information. We have no choice but to petition the court for answers. Please help us raise the funds necessary to find the answers our family so desperately need. Help us do the right thing.  Help us bring Jerry home.

A tax deductible donation can be made here.  Your contribution is greatly

appreciated.  Tax ID:   46-5578649

Thank you and God Bless.
