Justin Hoak's Boy Scout Eagle Project
Organized by: Justin Hoak
To complete my Eagle Scout rank, I am conducting a service project this month. My project is to restore and repair all of the weathered outdoor furniture at the Wartburg Senior living residence in Mount Vernon, New York. My project will begin the week of June 22nd. Prior to this, I must raise $2,000 for supplies and materials to complete the project.
Restoring the outdoor weathered furniture at the Wartburg will provide it’s residents a much nicer environment to enjoy the outdoors especially now that the weather has changed after a long and cold winter.
I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for almost 10 years. First as a Cub Scout, and for the last five years, as a Boy Scout. The program is much more than just exploring the outdoors and camping. It has taught me how to work in groups, respect the things around me, leadership skills and the importance of giving back to my community.
Restoring the glow the teak once had is a multi-stage process. I will be recruiting volunteers for each step of the project. Please consider making a contribution. If donations exceed my project’s costs, I will donate to the Wartburg in my troop’s name.
