BENEFITING: KAWASAKI DISEASE FUND NFP
EVENT DATE: Jan 12, 2013
This year I decided that I was going to lose weight and get healthier. One of the things that I've decided to do is to run a half marathon at Disney World with my sisters. As this is a selfish endeavor to benefit myself I've decided to try and do something positive. Through some of my longer training runs I draw on inspiration to keep going by thinking about 2 very special little ladies and the challenges they have and will face. Since I cannot find any site that allows you to split donations between charities I've had to start 2 pages. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. If you decide to donate it would be awesome if you could split whatever you are able to give between the 2 charities.
My niece, May Aldrin, was beautiful, vibrant little girl who was taken from us 4 years ago due to complications from Kawasaki's Disease.
Kawasaki disease (KD), also known as Kawasaki syndrome, is a serious illness characterized by inflammation of blood vessels throughout the body that primarily affects young children and infants. Kawasaki disease is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children.
To find out more about this disease there is a lot of good information at www.kdfoundation.org.
