Just One Kid
Organized by: Wendy Juvenal Mays
400,000 children are in foster-care, at last count. Many waiting to be adopted. In 2010 our family made the decision to adopt a child out of foster care. Less than a year later, we received a beautiful three week old baby boy into our home. We were expecting an older child but providence brought us Jaycob. He blessed and changed our lives more than anything else thus far. He has also opened our eyes and hearts to what an important and worthy choice becoming a foster and foster-adoptive parent is. There are so many other children who need loving families. Families that are available but either do not know they can adopt domestically from foster-care, with minimal cost, or are afraid. Our mission is to educate and quell fears associated with fostering and foster-adoption. This fundraiser will allow us the seed money to start our non-profit for that purpose. Our goal is to reduce the number of children awaiting adoption to zero, by finding them a forever home, one kid and one family at a time.
