THE STORY:

Rise to the challenge. Plan for a cure.

Type 1 Diabetes is a disorder of the body's immune system. Scientists believe this is caused by autoimmune, genetic, and/or environmental factors. The immune system attacks and destroys certain cells within the pancreas. When these cells are not able to produce insulin, people must take insulin in order to stay alive

This means multiple injections on a daily basis. People must prick their fingers for blood testing 6 or more times a day. Additionally, they must balance food intake and exercise to regulate their blood sugar levels.

Imagine how this would effect your life, especially as a juvenile.

The goal of the foundation is to restore and maintain normal pancreas function. This will be accomplished by 1) finding ways to turn off the immunie system attack and, 2) find ways to rstore the body's ability to produce insulin.

How can you help? Donate here. Every dollar helps. We have to start somewhere.

Rise to the challenge. Plan for a cure when Type 1 Diabetes becomes Type None.
