Serving the widely diverse Southern California community, JVS Los Angeles helps people of all faiths and backgrounds overcome barriers to employment so they can become self-sufficient.
From the long term unemployed to recently released veterans transitioning to civilian life; from at risk, foster and probation youth to people with disabilities and those moving from welfare to work, our goal is to provide individuals with the tools, resources and guidance they need through job training, mentoring, expert career coaching, job placement and retention support.
Longtime leaders in the workforce development field and advocates for the underserved, JVS Los Angeles was founded in 1931 to fight workplace discrimination and help Jewish refugees fleeing the political upheaval in Europe to find jobs and begin new lives with dignity and independence. Over eight decades later we are going strong – serving nearly 30,000 people each year.
