Where: Heybrook Lookout off Hwy 2 near Index.
Come join me (in person or in spirit) on a hike to Heybrook Lookout off Hwy 2, this Monday June 20th, the longest day of the year, along with hundreds of others across the world, to symbolize climbing out of the darkness of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). Honor the power of the warrior mom spirit and the healing power of Mother Nature with me! Kids welcome, I'll have my two-year-old with me in a hard-frame backpack, but please be aware of your abilities and comfort level. Trekking poles and good hiking shoes strongly recommended. Meet at 10:00am, start hiking at 10:30am.
I had postpartum depression for 14 months. The photo here was taken when I was at my lowest point; it is an invisible illness that 20% of moms experience. It was a long hard climb out of the valley for me. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause to help others get support sooner than I did.
