Kaiya's Croatia Mission Trip
Organized by: Kaiya Wychgel
Hi! Here is just a background on what I have been doing for the past year. This past year has been my first year in attendance at Biola University as a Political Science major, with minors in International Relations and Biblical Studies. I have developed a passion for traveling and justice in the world, and after graduating Biola in 2018, I hope to go to law school to pursue criminal justice, international law or Foster Care/family law. Each genre embodies one of my passions in life: criminal justice, international issues and youth who deserve to be loved and cared for. However, in the meantime, God has presented me with an amazing opportunity to go to Croatia for the entirety of this summer! As I plan to become a law student and eventually a lawyer, every summer leading up to graduation is absolutely crucial. That is why I am thankful that God has opened the door for me to travel with Leadership Lab International to a camp near Zagreb, Croatia.
I will be going through Calvary Church of Santa Ana from June 12 to August 18 (sorry mom!). While there, I will be taking a Bible Integration class, developing leadership skills and studying/exercising camp ministry skills. The camp is based on developing leadership through outdoor activities and excursions such as backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing and archery. I am only at novice level canoeing and beginner level everything else so I assume that this summer will push me mentally, spiritually and physically. This is not your average mission trip, as I will basically be a temporary missionary, learning how to conduct missions abroad and ministering to Junior High and High School students. I want to be apart of this trip because I truly think that it would grow me as a person, mature me in my faith and open my mind towards other nations and cultures – something that I found that I absolutely love, after spending time in Albania and Costa Rica.
Now here is the fun part where I need YOUR help! The trip costs approximately $3,600 in total. If you feel led to sponsor me in this exciting venture, I would be extremely grateful! Most importantly, I would love for you to keep my team and me in your prayers. Specifically if you could pray that my mind and heart is at ease as I am stressing about raising enough support and not seeing my family and friends for nine weeks straight. I know that this trip will strengthen, empower and help me to find out who I am and what His plan is for my life. Thank you so much for reading this, as I know life is busy.
