Canadian site update and Royal Geographical Society lecture about Lewa
April 23, 2017
Last year I traveled to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy north of Mount Kenya. My eyes were opened to the richness of the people, wildlife and overall ecology of this critically important but severely threatened part of the world. The conservancy protects endangered animals such as elephants, black and white rhinos and the Grevy's Zebra- all under threat of poaching and habitat degradation and fragmentation. I've run a number of marathons over the years but focusing on fundraising for Lewa gives this special significance. Please note that I cover my travel expenses and accommodation so that all monies raised go to the conservancy.
https://youtu.be/zkaJLKnzBus is an informative lecture describing programmes which will be funded by your donations. The introductory remarks are hilarious. Then settle in to see what good works you can support on the other side of the world.
This CrowdRise Fundraiser is set up for the benefit of my American friends and relatives. A Canadian site can be found at www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/canadians-support-kenyan-conservation/ .
