Last year on April25th, a devestating earthquake hit Nepal. It registered 8.1ms, 5.21 miles deep into the hymalan mountains. It was followed the next day by. A violent after shock registering 6.7ms came in the very next day, April 26th. Tremors continued daily threatening more of the same. On May 12th they received the worst of them, an after shock measuring a whopping 7.3ms. To date, 02/10/16, 430 aftershocks have persisted to pummel Nepal. Estimated more than 5 billion dollars in damages. 8,857 officially died. There were a reported 21,952 quake related injuries. This is catastrophic to say the least. While releif funds have been sent, it's mearly grazed what's needed to start rebuilding. This is the reason I am starting this fund. A few weeks ago I became friends on Facebook with a 24 year old by the name of Kamal Ghimire. He was born and raised in Phulbari Nepal, a small village located in the Bagmati region of the Hymalan moutains. It's located 60klm from Katmandu. Until the time of the initial quake, Kamal was studies anthropology and sociology, working part time as a tour guide to pay for school. His family for generations, has worked in agriculture to support themselves. Life as they knew it ended the day of the quake. They lost their livestock and their home, with simple day to to day survival being taken back to the stone age. Unable to provide for daily needs has left an already poor existance in complete ruin. They were given provisions for temporary housing. Food and water a locations have been despensed. But any amenities of comfort or consistency of life have been lost. Kamal has had to leave his education on hold to provide his time and energy for duties required to main tain existance. The stress from the disaster has overwhelmed his elderly father and health issues have hospitalized him on 3 occassions. Desperation and hopelessness fill their days, while with no secure dwelling the sleep in cold crude conditions. This campaign is being spear headed by me in efforts to help Kamal and his family rebuild, so they can once again provide for lives torn apart by fate. To give Kamal the opportunity to return to his studies and contribute to his family as a wage earner in the future. With out support from somewhere it will be a long hard struggle to maintain, much less garner much hope. When we were kids we were given milk money. This has grown up to fancy coffees as adults. If we could just put our comforts on hold for a short time and use our adult milk money to help Kamals family, this would be a chance to provide hope to a family desperately struggling to get their lives back to a symblance of normalcy. Please find it in your heart to help out in this effort to bless a group of people that's only offense was fates cruel hand. Blessings for blessings, to people in desperate need.
