BENEFITING: COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY NETWORK OF THE BAY AREA
EVENT DATE: Sep 21, 2013
Starting on September 1 and ending on my birthday (September 21), I'm raising $100 a day for my favorite nonprofit and cause: CTN and digital literacy.
That's $2,100 in 3 weeks. With your help it'll be as easy as...birthday cake!
Imagine if you didn't have the Internet, a computer, or a smartphone. Could you get a new job? Make a doctor's appointment? Keep in touch with the people you love?
Yet, 20% of Americans are not online, many simply because they have never learned how to use the computer. They lack what's called digital literacy. But really, they lack an equal chance.
CTN gives them that chance by providing empowering and life transforming digital literacy opportunities. We build teams of talented volunteer tech trainers and match them with people who need computer skills. CTN's programs improve access to employment opportunities and health information, inspire young people to pursue tech sector jobs, and help older adults connect with family and friends.
CTN is now 5 years old (and no, I'm not revealing my age!) and has already helped so many people.
Will you grant my birthday wish by helping CTN do even more? Donate $100 or choose any amount you'd like.
Many thanks in advance!
