Kappa Sigma - Kappa Zeta House Maintenance Fund
Organized by: Kappa Zeta
EVENT DATE Oct 26, 2016
The year was 1990. The men of Kappa Sigma, Kappa-Zeta Chapter erected a monument to our brotherhood, our bond, and our longevity. This monument was . . . The Kappa Sigma House!
And, there, at the bend in Fraternity Row, it still stands. Despite decades of beer-spewing gatoring, baseball bat swinging, and firework firing, the walls of this Monument, this House, still stand. The Brothers of Georgia Southern’s Kappa Sigma chapter built something good.
But, this monument needs care to withstand the fun-loving torment we put her through.
Very recently, you were asked to cough up a hundred bucks to make some repairs to the House. It seems these requests come every two to three years. We are very grateful to those that contribute. But, we don’t want to do this anymore.
So, recon back to the days you were a pledge. If you recall, Kappa Zeta was born on October 26, 1968. So, let’s get excited - our birthday is coming up!
For those of you with kids, you know the ritual when your child receives a birthday invitation. You buy a card, throw $20 in it, and drop them off at the party. Well, we are starting a new, annual tradition of celebrating Kappa Zeta’s birthday each year.
Instead of asking you for hundreds of dollars every couple of years when things break, we want you to give a birthday gift of $20 to Kappa Zeta each year to build a maintenance fund. Twenty dollars – no more, no less - to fund house repairs and improvements as they are needed.
We have created this gift page so you can give your Kappa Zeta Birthday Present online. While you’re here, you’ll be able to throw around some trash talk for your Brothers to read. We’d also appreciate you forwarding this site via Facebook, Twitter, and email to other Kappa Zetas so we know we are reaching everybody.
What can $20 do? Look at the math. If 500 alumni and brothers put in $20 each year, we’d raise $10,000 each and every year to keep our House strong. Heck, there’s 706 of us on our Facebook group. If we had 75% participation each year, we’d have enough funds to cover the routine House maintenance AND build a Torre Degli Asinelli in our own back yard!
Brothers, this is OUR House – this is YOUR House. Let’s ALL play a role in keeping it a Monument to Kappa Sigma’s greatness at Georgia Southern!
I mean, come on, it’s twenty bucks.
