BENEFITING: US Association for UNHCR
Currently, our generation is being labeled as the "Generation of Indifference." Recently, every source of social media has been plastered with images, news articles, and testimonies about what is being called the "Greates Refugee Crisis of the Millenial Era." Last week, a heartbreaking picture of two children, found on the shoreline in Europe, was on my newsfeed more times than I could count. I, like many others, read the story, thought about how horrible it was, shed a tear or two, and then closed Facebook and went about my day. That same day, I spent 5 dollars at starbucks, 10 dollars on food. The next day I spent about the same, without blinking an eye.
So I would like to reach out to all of you, and see if anyone would like to join me in breaking this stigma. I am quitting my beloved addiction of starbucks, and putting that money toward donating to relief efforts by the UNHCR to those currently fleeing persecution and conflict.
Please join me in breaking this stigma, by donating your next x-amount of starbucks drinks/fast food trips/and delivery charge fees below. A little goes a long way.
$20 can provide10 jerry cans full of clean, healthy and drinkable water.
$40 can provide solar lanterns to bring light into their homes.
$100 can provide a family with a clean cooking stove so they can prepare food for themselves.
$500 can provide a family with a tent to shelter them from the elements.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you to those who donate.
