BENEFITING: COMMUNITY CANCER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Mar 16, 2013
The AMAZING people running the Community Cancer Foundation in Conrad, Montana are holding their annual Karaoke for Cancer Competition.
Each year many individuals put their singing chops and nerves (karaoke creates some serious anxiety...at least to me!) to the test and sing karaoke to help raise funds and awareness for those affected by cancer in the Conrad community.
I was lucky and fortunate enough to be able to make it through the preliminary round and now have the opportunity to help raise money for the finals being held on March 16th, 2013.
This event is billed as a fundraiser first and the goal is to raise as much money as possible in order to positively affect and help many deserving individuals.
Therefore, all finalists are encouraged to fundraise prior to the finals in order to bring with them more votes ($money$), which will then help increase their chances of winning when combined with their performance score.
The person who raises the most money, sings the best they can and obtains a positive score from the three judges will end up winning the competition and the $1000.00 prize that goes along with it.
With that said, here is my pledge to all who are kind enough to donate:
If by some stroke of magic I end up overcoming my nerves and end up winning (a long shot if there ever was any!) I promise to give back the $1000.00 prize money awarded to me and put it towards the final tally raised for the Community Cancer Foundation.
My goal is for this year to have raised the most money yet and therefore be able to significantly impact the lives of many.
All donations, however large or small, are greatly appreciated and will help do great things for people, that in all honesty, most donors will probably never meet. However, there will be an unspoken acknowledgement and realization among those that do receive your donations. Which is the eternal gratitude and appreciation to the kindness and generosity of strangers. Thanks for the support!
