Karen's Drive for Education
Organized by: Karen K. Nalunkuma
Hi, I am college student whose future is on hold. Last year, I graduated high school and enrolled in an honors university. I was estatic to be the first person in my family to be accepted to college, but I could not afford to stay on campus. My freshman year of college, I have commuted by public transport two hours between school and home. I will not complain about the mental, physical, financial demands I endured this school year, but I will say it took a toll on me. My mother, who has sacrificed so much, struggled for months to get me a car and she did, she always comes through. However, this week I got into an accident. Currently, my life is at a standstill, I need to be able to commute to my two jobs to pay for next year's tuition. I cannot afford staying on campus or spending any money on transporation. Please, please help me repair my car, so that I am able to have enough money saved to get an education next semester. Please, my mom has worked so hard to the point she has had to be hospitalized. I cannot handle putting her through any more stress, so please help me fix my car and secure my future.
