EVENT DATE: Mar 04, 2016
My name is Karisma Nori Kulkarni. I am a senior at Tesla STEM High School. I am striving to become a Pediatrician with an emphasis in Neurosciences. To fund my higher education, I am participating in scholarship pageants. I am competing in the International Junior Miss (IJM) Scholarship State Pageant on March 4th-6th, 2016. I am also preparing to compete in the Miss America Organization pageant on March 26th, 2016. The “cherries on the top” are the friendships and life experiences earned from partaking in pageants.
My mother is disabled. She suffers from “invisible” illnesses including fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, and other debilitating health issues. Her plight strengthened my resolve to devote my life through a service-oriented profession. I want to study Pediatric Medicine, Neurosciences, and International Relations for research, treatment and advocating about illnesses – visible and invisible – plaguing millions worldwide. I plan to make a difference in the course of healthcare lobbying the Government, Community Outreach programs and working with Doctors without Borders and the United Nations (U.N).
Did you know that these pageants give millions of dollars each year in monies, and scholarships (such as partial to full-ride tuition-free education)? The initial investment in pageantry is expensive. However, the Return of Investment (ROI), is worth the underwriting. This incredible opportunity will enable me to use/and further develop my leadership and public speaking skills on a national platform about charitable causes supported by the pageant organization as well as ones that are close to my heart (related to pediatric illnesses, eradicating stigma with mental health disorders and promoting education in developing countries).
I am requesting your generous financial support to help me compete in scholarship pageants.
To realize my goal of becoming a Pediatrician, I have to tread a long and expensive journey. I am determined to overcome barriers through hard work in maintaining my grades, excellence in leadership (ASHA, FBLA, Student Counsel, Honors Society, etc.), volunteering efforts, and being a responsible citizen (I will be voting in the 2016 elections!). I am also seeking the support of our community through financial and in-kind support sponsorships to help me participate in scholarship pageants.
Your contribution is an invaluable investment in future medical doctors like me. In this uncertain economic time, students like me count on your support – now more than ever! Please consider making as generous a financial gift as you can. Your donation will make a world of difference as I strive hard to attain my educational and career goals of becoming an accomplished Pediatrician.
Kindly accept my deepest gratitude for your help and support.
