I just sent an e-mail to most folks but in case it did not reach everyone, please see below:

Dear friends, family and colleagues,

Thank you so very much for all of your support, well wishes and contributions to me and my marathon team – the MGH Emergency Response Team. I successfully completed the 2015 Boston Marathon and could not have done it without each and every one of you cheering me on! It was an incredible experience after a long and challenging 6 months of training. BUT – despite my ankle issues and not actually pounding the pavement since the end of January (I followed the training plan on the elliptical vs. running for the last 2.5 months), I crossed the famous finish line on Boylston Street in 4 hours 42 minutes and 7 seconds!

You all also helped me not only achieve my goal of raising $8000 for my team but you helped me surpass it! My total fundraising is now at $8779 with some donations coming in over the last week!!! $1279 of the money raised will be matched dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor since I surpassed $7500. THANK YOU! I am very proud to be an MGH-er and to have had the opportunity to run in support of the wonderful work MGH Emergency Response Team does! You should also be proud that you helped to contribute to the MGH Emergency Response Program so we can be Ready When Seconds Count – whether it be snow storms, disasters, or public health threats!

All my best,

Angela

Dear Friends and Family, I h…
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this finds you all well.
One year ago, I was a part of the “kidney team” in the 2013 Boston Marathon; together with many colleagues and with your help we raised about $45000+ to support research in kidney diseases and transplantation.
As you all know, the day ended with a senseless tragedy and also thousands of runners were not able to finish the race. I was one of those runners, and was granted entry to this year’s race (bib 33869). Throughout a harsh winter and a struggle with injuries, I managed to put in some training and I am hoping I will finish the race this year.
Terrorism is striking regularly my home country and running this year would be a small message of solidarity with victims of terrorism in the states, the middle east and allover the world.
Once again, my gratitude goes to you who supported my run last year, and made this year’s run possible.
See you at the finish line. For Kidneys!

Dear Friends, Before the wee…
Dear Friends,
Before the week continues to quickly unfold, I want to take a few minutes of your time to share a few moments of Monday’s race before the tragic end and thank you one more time for supporting my cause.
As of mile zero and throughout the miles I ran, thousands of people of all age groups on the roadsides smiling, offering water, fruits, food, encouragement, humor and cheer in pure random acts of kindness asking for nothing in exchange! One would not imagine that a senseless coward act of a twisted mind would target such a gather. My thoughts continue to be with the victims and their families.
Talking about the fundraiser, thanks to your support, our “kidney team” raised about 38,000$ to fund research in kidney diseases and transplantation: Special thanks go to my family, New Haven and Boston friends, the MGH dialysis staff, my medical school friends, the BWH dialysis staff, the BWH renal division and the transplantation research center. The big gratitude goes to our patients who are the cause we endorse and in particular to my patient Tom Demello who supported me and gave me the privilege me to run in his honor.
Like thousands of people, I could not finish the marathon because of the event; yet the lessons I’ve learnt and the scenes of kindness, courage and solidarity I witnessed before and during the run and after the explosion are simply priceless.
Best regards to all,
Kassem
