Some of you may be familiar with the Slam T1D Wiffleball Tournament but if not, let me give you some information on it. This tournament was created to help support and raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a lethal, life-altering autoimmune disease for which there is currently no cure. 40,000 people are diagnosed with T1D each year in the US alone, many children. T1D requires dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, 24/7/365 management and carries the constant threat of devastating complications, even death. SLAMT1D WIFFLE Ball tournaments provide awareness about this oft-misunderstood disease. We raise funds for children to attend camps that provide vital T1D-management skills and help build a camper’s confidence to manage their disease on their own.
SLAMT1D’s 3rd Annual Sam Fuld Classic WIFFLE Ball tournament supports SLAMT1D, Inc. camperships and camp funding for Sam Fuld’s USF Sports Diabetes Camp and the Florida Diabetes Camp Organization, Inc.
Last year, a handful of students and friends participated in this tournament from the USF SEM program and had a great time! We would like to participate again this year by raising money and raising awareness to as many people as we can.
If you can, please donate to this cause!
Thank you :)

To borrow one camp’s motto, “Until there’s a cure, there’s camp.” Thank you for your support! We'll see you at the ballpark.
