As a breast cancer survivor, I was thrilled to run in my first Donna Breast Cancer Half Marathon in 2017 and raise $7777 for breast cancer research and support. I had such a great time at the race that I am signing up again for the 2018 race in order to celebrate my 8 year anniversary of being a survivor!
I am thrilled to once again combine my love of running with my passion for breast cancer research. This race is the only full and half marathon distance race in the US that donates all of the proceeds to breast cancer support and research. In fact, 70% of the proceeds are donated to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville which is one of the leading breast cancer research organizations in the US. The remaining proceeds are used by the Donna Foundation to support local Floridians with their support of breast cancer. No worries if you do not want to donate as I realize that everyone has their own charities of choice. I would only ask that if you are reading this to please be sure to perform self-exams as early detection saves lives!
