Pop-Post was founded in 2013 by Art Director and Serial Entrepreneur Kathleen Hiraga, who has spent her creative career telling visual stories in the entertainment industry. Kathleen’s original start-up experience began in New York at launch level as staff photographer, designer and member of the MTV Networks Creative Services team. This 10 person award-winning team was responsible for memorable print and on- air campaigns for MTV, Nickelodeon and VH-1 in the 80’s. Eventually moving to Los Angeles to art direct feature films, commercials and television, Kathleen has incorporated her art direction and start-up experience into Pop-Post and story brands Octavia Rocks and Samurai Bike Messengers. While working at MTV Networks, Kathleen raced bikes competitively and spent late nights training in New York’s Central Park alongside friends who worked as bike messengers to support their racing careers. Samurai Bike Messengers, is a personal story about a female cyclist and bike messenger living and cycling in New York City, all based on Kathleen’s own story and adventure.
