Kathy is a partner with Smith, Gambrell & Russell, an international law firm headquartered in Atlanta, GA, and chairs its Land Use Group. In recognition of her expertise in land use/environmental law, Ms. Zickert has been selected for inclusion in Georgia Super Lawyers, Georgia Trend magazine’s Legal Elite, the Legal 500 U.S. for Georgia Real Estate Lawyers, and as one of The Best Lawyers in America® for Land Use & Zoning Law for multiple years. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 she was named “Lawyer of the Year” for Zoning and Land Use in Georgia.
Kathy also has served as an Adjunct Professor for Emory University School of Law, teaching advanced litigation courses; as a DeKalb County Magistrate Judge; and on the MARTA Board. She is also a past President of the DeKalb Bar Association.
Kathy has been dancing since 2011. She joined a dance studio as a way to meet new friends and relieve stress. Since joining, she has been fortunate to meet some amazing people, as well as open up a more creative side of her life. “I’d rather be dancing.”
Desirée began her formal dance training at the age of four at Florida Ballet Arts in Sarasota, and continued through her discovery of dance teams in high school. From there she went on to dance for the University of Florida Gators dance team, the Dazzlers, where she performed all over the country, including the 2000 Men’s Basketball Final Four. Following her four years at UF Desiree broke into the professional world of dance as an 'A-Town' dancer for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and was privileged enough to perform at both the 2002 NBA All Star game and Celebrity All Star game. Desirée currently serves as the official trainer for the Atlanta Hawks Cheerleaders.
Desirée earned her Master’s of Science (M.S.) in Health Sciences with a specialization in Nutrition, from Georgia State University, and has since earned the title dietetic technician, registered (DTR). She is a certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor, registered yoga teacher and certified posture specialist. In 2016, she co-founded Interfusion Fitness, a fitness studio in Atlanta specializing in sports/fitness training, dance fitness, yoga, and barre. Desirée also serves on the board for the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) www.interfusionfitness.com
Through her nutrition education and dance/fitness background, Desiree hopes to educate people on the positive effects of a healthy and active lifestyle.
