Come join us for the Fall Run/Walk as part of a larger celebration of World Peace Day on Saturday, September 24. World Peace Day is officially recognized by the United Nations, and it is a day that is celebrated globally. At the Bartlett Nature Center, we will be hosting a Fall Run/Walk along with several other activities including an International Food Festival, silent auction, face painting, cooperative games, and more! The Fall Run/Walk will include a 1k Nature Walk that is family and kid-friendly alongside this year’s newly implemented 5k Fall Run.
This event is a fun, healthy way to celebrate World Peace Day and kick off the Fall Season. More importantly, it is also a fundraiser for Play for Peace, to support our efforts to help children in areas of conflict all over the world. The idea for the walk was thought of by Aidan Hennessy from Bartlett, IL. In 2013 at just 6 years of age, Aidan proved that children can really make a difference by starting up this 5k event and has raised over $35,000 since this event started!
So come out and celebrate peace and giving to those in need on September 24 at the Bartlett Nature Center with food, fun, and more!
