Katie and Emily are turning 6. God has blessed our family and we are without want. Last year, Katie and Emily invited friends to come celebrate their birthday - but asked to bring donations toward purchasing mosquito nets to protect families in Africa from malaria. They were so excited to be able to help five families have bed nets.
This year, they have chosen different things they are excited about. Although no child likes taking medicine, Katie wants to ensure other children have life saving medication - most of which we take for granted. She also loves art and music and would like to provide art supplies, and musical instruments and instruction which ultimately helps children focus better in school.
Emily is excited to purchase chickens which provide fresh eggs for the families to eat and which can multiply and assist other neighbors. She would also like to purchase soccer balls for children who often make their toys out of banana leaves or rolled up trash.
We would be blessed if you would help the girls reach their goals as we teach them to put others before themselves - especially on such a special day as their birthday. There are few greater lessons in life.
