I lost my older sister Becca Wilkins in 2005 to melanoma skin cancer. Experiencing a loss in the family changed my perspective on life. I instantly realized how precious each moment is. I choose to live life to the fullest and not waste anymore time taking life for granted. When Becca took her last breath on August 15, 2005, she was in the company of all her loved ones. Among this group, was her 2 year old daughter, Adeline Wilkins, and now widowed husband Patrick Wilkins. Patrick has done a tremendous job raising Adeline. His perserverance and love made it possible to work through this tragedy.
Being the avid runner I am, I decided to take on the challenge of running a marathon in honor of my sister and her beautiful family she created. I would like to raise money for a melanoma skin cancer foundation. Not only to raise awarness but, to help others in need. Since my work schedule does not permit me to join a team and train with others. I am training and raising money on my own time. May love be with you always :)
