BENEFITING: SUSAN G. KOMEN MASSACHUSETTS
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
This past April our Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. As you can imagine this came as quite a shock to our family...how could this happen, why her? You can question this all day long wondering what could have been done differently, how could we have prevented this from happening? The reality is cancer doesn't discriminate and we have to pick our heads up and move forward with the challenge that has landed upon us. Mom started Chemo on June 1st and has had quite the challenge in and out of the hospital ever since battling exhaustion and weakness on a daily basis. She continues with Chemo over the next 2 months, will have surgery and finally radiation. Watching someone you love each and every day struggle through cancer is heartbreaking, but we will prevail as a team hold hope, be strong and provide the words of encouragement each and every day to help strengthen the mind and soul and allow the body to heal through this time. The journey is long from over but with YOUR support we will continue to have the best advances in medicine and treatment and she will come out on the other side as a survivor! Please consider donating to our fundraising page as we support every single person who is currently battling and or a survivor of breast cancer as we walk on September 27th.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. ~Eleanor Roosevelt
