My birthday is approaching on February 8th, and for this year, I have decided to raise funds for the amazing work that Nomi Network is doing. So, instead of Facebook posts and gifts and lovely cards, please consider supporting an organization that is close to my heart.
I am raising funds for Nomi Network to bring awareness and to open up the opportunity for you to partner with me to bring hope and justice to our broken world. Consider just donating a dollar, or more, because if everyone who is a friend of mine would give a dollar, we would be halfway there!
I first heard about the good work of Nomi Network through my brother, Stanley Lee, back in my college days. "Buy her bag, not her body" was the campaign. I was drawn to the work of Nomi Network because I knew they were strategic about the way they were helping women - empowering them to stand on their own and carving out specific career paths for each of them.
After attending a brunch hosted by PURE Women's Organization and hearing the co-founder Diana Mao speak, I knew that there was more I could do. It's very rare to find an organization who is truly empowering those it helps and not making them dependent on their systems. Nomi Network empowers the women, helps them form communities, provides market access and gives the women technical and leadership training.
Please join me in empowering women who are survivors or vulnerable to sex trafficking.
