Dear Santosha, Wishing you …
Dear Santosha,

Wishing you cheer and joy during the upcoming holidays.
In behalf of Nepal FREED, (Nepal Foundation for Rural Educational and Economic Development)   I am writing to update you on our progress since the earthquakes and to thank you for your past donations.
After the earthquakes, I went to Nepal to distribute  50 lb. bags of rice to each of 1,100 village homes. Additionally,  each family also received 1kg of cooking oil, 1kg. of salt and basic medical supplies.  More than 4,000 villagers were given immediate aid.
There is still much work to be done. With no government assistance, Nepal FREED  provided financial assistance to rebuild roads to the school's construction sites and with great difficulty, acquire the necessary permits to rebuild.

All of this work would not have been possible without your generous donation(s).
We are now very excited to announce that we are presently breaking ground to lay the foundation for the 10 classroom high school in upper Balche and the 7 classroom elementary school in lower Balche. Both schools will provide education for about 448 students total.
As you know,  Nepal FREED is dedicated to providing schools thereby promote education in rural Nepal to some of the poorest, most vulnerable people in the world. We are particularly proud of our efforts to educate young women.

With your help and the help of partners from all over the world, Nepal FREED will continue to make a difference.

Here is story of my Nepal visit was published on Marin IJ:
I will be traveling back to Nepal in February 2016 to volunteer for 10 days. I will be sending you an updates of our progress.
Thank you so much again. Happy Holidays.
Sincerely yours,
Jay Tamang

Thank you again for your generous and heartfelt donations. The first $1700 have been sent to Laxman Moktan in Nepal. We had a set back in Nepal due to the second earthquake. Markets were closed due to more destruction. Finally, Laxman and his people are able to buy rice, beans, vegies (if any available), hygiene products and other badly needed items for the village. (450 people plus the neighboring village with 90 people).
We are so grateful for any donation. No donation is too big or too small.
Yours in gratitude
