BENEFITING: PUBLIC COUNSEL
EVENT DATE: Mar 17, 2012
For the seventh year in a row, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is proud to be an official sponsor for Public Counsel's annual "Run for Justice," on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Katten's Los Angeles office has grown to be one of the largest teams supporting Public Counsel at the LA Big 5K/LA Marathon. Every year Katten supports those who wish to participate in the “3.1-Mile Fun Run/Walk” by sponsoring the registration for employees, their families, our clients and friends. This is a terrific way for the Firm to support a worthy cause and get involved in events that benefit the community.
Katten is very active in providing Public Counsel with pro bono assistance with immigration issues, unlawful detainer matters, and Public Counsel's adoption program, where attorneys assist low-income parents with the adoption of children from the foster care system. Through Public Counsel, Katten also regularly handles civil rights and prisoners' rights cases.
We are proud to report the following accomplishments of Katten's "Run for Justice" Team:
• Katten’s “Run for Justice” Team had 52 participants in 2011, consisting of Katten attorneys, staff, family, clients and friends.
• Katten was recognized and awarded a 1st place trophy for "Outstanding Team Participation." This was the 4th year the Firm was recognized.
• Katten raised $3,460 in individual sponsorships, along with a firm donation of $5,000, for a total of $8,460 in donations and individual sponsorships!
• Katten was awarded the "Karen Paull Justice Cup" in 2011 for taking 3rd place for the most money raised out of 35 other firms and companies.
We hope you will support Public Counsel and Katten’s “Run for Justice” Team and join us again this year for this fun and worthwhile event. Please donate and help us reach our team goal!
Public Counsel provides critically needed legal and social services to over 26,000 people annually—abused and abandoned children, families living in poverty, homeless veterans, the elderly and hundreds of nonprofit organizations that serve low-income communities. Over the last three and a half decades, Public Counsel has recruited over 300,000 volunteers and delivered over a quarter billion dollars in free assistance to those who need it most. The "Run for Justice" event gives us another opportunity to support Public Counsel in its efforts to provide these services.
