BENEFITING: Kawasaki Disease Foundation
Kawasaki disease is something I hold close to my heart! My daughter was diagnosed on feb 21,2014. She carried a fever for more than 4 days and had a rash that started from her hands and feet and spread to the trunk of her body. After being swabbed multiple times and almost sent home. We insisted to go to the hospital for further testing. That Friday night I received the scariest news. Your daughter had kawasakis disease. I remembered learning about it in nursing school. So I started researching and she had all they symptoms.
Fever which often is higher than 102.2 F (39 C) and lasts more than five days
Extremely red eyes (conjunctivitis) without a thick discharge
A rash on the main part of the body (trunk) and in the genital area
Red, dry, cracked lips and an extremely red, swollen tongue (strawberry tongue)
Swollen, red skin on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet
Swollen lymph nodes in the neck and perhaps elsewhere
Would not walk
And started I to the peeling of the hands and feet.
After four days in the hospital after here ivig infusion she started feeling better.
And three echo scans later Presley has a heart with no inflammation! :)
Some are not as lucky as Presley. So that's why I am raising awareness about KAWASAKI disease. Please donate and help out these kids that are unable to afford the care they need to live a healthy life!
I am happy to say we are in yearly echocardiograms now :) :) :)
please feel free to watch the video I made of pictures about Presleys journey against Kawasaki disease. :)
Please donate any little bit helps.
