In September and October, we’ll each be celebrating a BIG birthday year (75 for Harry, 70 for Kay) and we’re so excited to share our celebrations with the children we serve through World of Children Award.
$145 (H&K's ages combined) can fund a rescue operation to save 23 girls from sex trafficking in India. Double that = 46 girls saved from a life of trauma and abuse!
$100 can provide 4 months of schooling for a disadvantaged student in Sierra Leone. Double that = 8 months of education!
$75 (HL's age) can provide a month's scholarship for a girl in Ghana to pursue higher education. Double that = 2 months closer to her dream of finishing school!
$70 (Kay's age) can provide anti-bullying resources for 23 children in the US. Double that = two full classrooms learning respect for all!
$50 can provide 6 days of medication for a pediatric cancer patient in Mexico. Double that = 12 full days of treatment!
$25 can provide nutritious formula for 3 babies born to impoverished teen mothers in Colombia. Double that = feeding 6 babies!
WHY THIS MATTERS SO MUCH TO US:
In 1996, Harry had a vision for the World of Children Award. He realized that though there was a Pulitzer for art and literature and a Nobel Prize for the sciences and peace there were no awards for those who were tirelessly serving vulnerable children. That realization was a catalyst for Harry, who pledged to dedicate the rest of his life to creating an Awards program which supports and funds heroes serving vulnerable children worldwide.
When Kay attended her first World of Children Award event, she fell in love with Harry - and the organization - at the same time. Since then, she's dedicated her life to the vulnerable children we serve.
As we enter our 20th year of doing this work together, we are asking friends and family (or really anyone!!) to join us in unlocking the future for these children. Make a donation and help us share our birthdays with vulnerable children.
We thank you all for your tremendous love and support and your belief that together we can change the world, starting one little hand by one little hand and one little heart by one little heart.
Harry and Kay
