Seniors have always held a special place in my heart because of my relationship with my grandparents: my "Tatay", "Nanay", and "Lola" Pat, whom I've lived with at different points in my life. As a recent college graduate trying to ease my way into the "real world", I look up to my grandparents more than ever. I truly appreciate and have a better understanding of their love, sacrifices, hardwork, and dedication to their families.
My organization, Wish of a Lifetime, grants life enriching Wishes for our oldest and Greatest Generation. We envision a world in which society embraces aging and the inherent wisdom that accompanies it, where seniors are celebrated for their accomplishments and sacrifices, and where intergenerational connections are part of our daily lives. Connecting and reconnecting senior citizens with people, their passions, and purpose eliminates their feelings of isolation and help them live vibrant lives. Our Wish Recipients report that they are happier, healthier, and feel more involved in the world after experiencing their Wish.
In July 2015, I summitted my first "14er" mountain in honor of my Tatay, Nanay, and Lola Pat, who have inspired me to work hard towards my goals. Please support my campaign for Wish of a Lifetime and our mission to shift the way society views and values our oldest generations by fulfilling seniors’ dreams and sharing their stories to inspire those of all ages.
