Some answers and more hard times.
March 08, 2016
On January 22nd, when we should of been celebrating my husband's birthday, we were instead at the hospital receiving some of the hardest news. At the time we thought that I was just a couple days short of being 11 week pregnant. We thought we were almost through the dreaded first trimester and were just starting to tell our families and friends. That afternoon I was sent to the hospital because I was having really bad pain in my back and right hip. I spent 24 hours in the hospital and learned three life changing things.
First, I was no longer pregnant. The hormones suggest that we lost the baby around week 6 and my body likely absorbed everything. This news was the hardest to hear and we are still working on processing all of the emotions from it but it has been hard to even think about with the other two bits of news still hanging out there.
The second, I have a large mass just outside of my uterus on the right side. We are guessing at this point that this is the cause of the pain but the doctors have no clue what it is yet. I recently had an MRI to see if they can tell more and we are rather impatiently waiting for the doctor to review it.
The last bit, I had two separate blood tests come back that can indicate an autoimmune disease. After looking at my history, current symptoms and the test results that have come back so far we are leaning towards Lupus. The hard part is that there is not just a simple test to run to say you have it. Sometimes it can take years to diagnosis it and there are a lot of test that have to be run to get there.
Somewhat luckily, I have pretty good health insurance. However, the medical bills from all of this are really starting to add up. Many of the test that I need are very expensive and we have to pay 20%. We are close to $2,500 out of pocket cost right now and that is without the MRI. On top of that both myself and my husband have had to miss several days of work for hospital visits, doctor's visits and complicated test that take up several hours of the work day. We are already getting the medical bills and have no clue how we are going to be able to pay these, let alone our normal bills with the lost income.
I am only looking to raise the amount that we have to pay for the medical bills so that we can hopefully not fall really far behind with all of this. Anything will help.
