BENEFITING: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association
EVENT DATE: Sep 05, 2014
Thanks to everyone who has donated! You can find the video from my ice bucket challenge here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cPYdGDBWg0&feature=youtu.be
I have spent the past several years researching the debilitating neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS; also known as Lou Gehrig's disease and motor neuron disease) as a major part of my doctoral thesis. Recently, a movement has started to help increase awareness of ALS and to raise money for ALS reseach - the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It is as simple as the name suggests: you get a bucket of ice dumped over your head.
As I am approaching my thesis defense date, I have decided to try to raise money for ALS research by participating in this challenge. Please consider donating (I promise to send you a video tape of the goofiness if you sign your name) as a sign of your support for disease research.
