BENEFITING: The Grassroot Project
Kaitlyn Bush wrote -Hi friends and family!! So I decided this was the year to run my first marathon, and what better one to run the The Marine Corps Marathon? So of course, as the overachiever that I am, I started training in November and telling everyone about it so that I can't take it back.
Then that fateful day came when I received an email that stated I did not make it into the lottery to secure a bib for the marathon...
(And all my friends did so I know I'll be forced to run it anyway!)
Needless to say I was devastated until I found this wonderful opportunity!
The Grassroots Project is a team that uses athletes and athletic events to educate at risk youth about HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness in Washington D.C.
They have a team running the race and I can secure a bib for the Marathon if I join in their mission and raise $500 for their cause.
Read more about them here: http://www.grassrootproject.org/about/
So I ask nicely (before I beg) if you could donate a little money (anything helps!) to me and this cause so that not only can I be out of breath and in pain for 4 1/2+hours (hopefully), but I'll be running the Marine Corps Marathon for all of my military friends and family while also raising money and awareness for a great cause.
Thanks for reading my desperate plea and please pass along to anyone that might be interested.
Thank you and love to you all xoxoxo,
