THE STORY:

Kenneth Cody wrote -

I am not accustomed to reaching out for help but I really need it. Before March 30th all I aspired to accomplish was to provide for my 13 year old daughter. To give her the tools she needs to overcome obstacles and succeed at anything her heart desired. To that goal I made every sacrifice and cut every corner regardless of the impending impact of my actions. Nothing mattered simply because in my heart she deserved every opportunity, she deserved a chance, and she deserved a daddy. My daughter already has two emotional strike's against her. First is that her mother is terminally ill with an inoperable brain AVM. We have known about the AVM since my little girl was 3 and are Blessed to still have her mother active in her life. Yet the simplest of tasks draws concern and the smallest of crowds illicits paralyzing fear. Second, "Q" does not have a close connection with family due to distance and/or dysfunction. Since our daughter was born I have proudly been and forever will be her number 1 champion, a social outlet, guide, sounding board, mentor, and daddy. I attend every function. meeting, school trip and anything that requires a parent. Not because I have too or because her mom can't but because she is my heart. The sun rises and sets with her smile. To see the twinkle ... the spark in Q's eyes when she figures something out, performs a task or accomplishes a goal is not my job or my right. It is my joy ... my Blessing. I now realize that any sacrifice I make is insignificant if my little girl can't share that smile and that sense of accomplishment with neither parent. I am fearful of the upcoming medical bills. future employment, and my ability to continue being a strong provider. My child ... like ANY other deserves so much more and I just want to provide for her while I can, the BEST that I can, and as long as I can. Just as any other loving parent would want to do the same ... Nothing more and nothing less. A $2500 goal may seem naive or even short sighted but again, forgive me, because I simply don't know how to ask for help. Anything would be a Blessing and appreciated.
