BENEFITING: MAINE ISLAND TRAIL ASSOCIATION
The promise of another summer in Maine: it's what gets us through fall, winter, and spring.
One of the most precious things about Maine is being on the water and exploring the islands of the Penobscot Bay.
The Maine Island Trail Association (MITA) is a water trail spanning over 200 islands and coastal sites along the 375 miles of the coast of Maine. It protects access to some of our favorite islands, including Butter, some of the Barred Islands, and sites on Vinalhaven.
Join me in supporting MITA. Every gift counts. Thank you. And I can't wait to see you in Maine!
From the MITA site: "In order to ensure the future care of the Maine Island Trail, MITA created an endowment to fund the direct costs of our stewardship work. The endowment will pay for the purchase, operation, coordination, and replacement of MITA's fleet of skiffs and vehicles, plus related stewardship expenses, in perpetuity. The completion of the Wild Islands Campaign will help guarantee that the wild islands of Maine will remain clean, well cared for, and open to visitation for generations to come."
