Children’s Hospital Kept My Brain Running!
December 1, 1997 is a date with no particular meaning for most people, but it is a date that changed my life forever. It was the day I had my first seizure. It was the start of an unplanned journey: Brain Surgery.
Although I had to face this hurdle, I was blessed to have a supportive team. The doctors, nurses, and staff at Children’s Hospital in Detroit did everything in their power to provide stability and comfort during a difficult time. They provided me with multiple options, top level care, and the confidence to run through my hurdles.
The tumor was successfully removed, and found it to be non-cancerous scar tissue. Even though the tumor wasn’t cancerous, Children’s Hospital treated me and my family as a top priority. They got me back in the race. They got me a second chance at a healthy life.
So, it is now my time to give back! I am running the Detroit Free Press ½ Marathon on October 19th, 2014 to “Keep Brains Running”. Help give Children’s Hospital the ability to help more patients like me.
I am asking you to contribute to the “Keep Brains Running” campaign.
My campaign goal is $2,000. It is a lofty goal, and will take about 80 people to give $25.00, but I have faith in all of you. I know many of you have student loans or other pressing expenses, but chip in what you can. No amount is too small.
Please help me keep others' brains running!
Thanks in advance,
