Rape Victims need support!!! The Essex County SAVE (formerly called the Rape Crisis Center) was in jeopardy of closing this year due to an acute shortage of funding. SAVE, a program under the Family Service League umbrella, is New Jersey’s designated rape care center for Essex County and it offers a 24/7 hotline number for survivors of sexual violence and their families to access for help. The help that SAVE provides includes hotline referrals typically for counseling provided by the FSL, along with other supportive organizations. It also includes accompaniments to the emergency room during a rape kit exam, to the police department during any questioning, to court for any proceedings that may take place, or to any combination of these three. In addition, SAVE works to educate the community on sexual violence prevention through education and advocacy. We are in need of 40,000.00 to keep the doors open and services continuing. Please make a donation today.
