Keeping Rob Alive Fund
Organized by: Holly Villefranche
My brother Rob Smith is in kindred hospital in Tampa. He has Alpha 1 disorder. Its an auto imune disease that attacks the lungs rendering them like a leather bag. Not much air comes in and carbon dioxide cannot come out. His illness is severe and hes on a ventilator and weaned onto a high flow nasal cannula. Because he has bad insurance he was sent there and he lives in Cocoa. If he cant come home they will ship him to Georgia and we wouldnt be able to see him . It's really tough getting to Tampa as it is, we cant afford to go out there all the time do to work and it takes about 21/2 hrs each way plus gas cars and hotel rms we just cant afford it. He needs a high flow nasle cannula. . I am told this is very expensive. Also we need a generator and an electrical apparatus to wire it to in case electric goes out he would need the generator to breathe. We have to learn how to care for the trake as well. If he has this he can come home and live out his life instead of being taken away from his family. If we cant pull this off he will most likley pass away up in Georgia without his family. This is so hard for us to bear. Please help us as we are not able to purchase this machine . Anythings helps. Thank you in advance and God bless you weather you can help or not.
