Correction to my first update
February 04, 2017
I’m an Army vet and consider myself a responsible person. I never in a million years thought I’d be doing something like this. But here I am.
In my 40’s, I was a divorced mom of two young kids. I had a plan to pay off my loans early, well before retirement. But despite years of looking, I couldn’t find a better job. I’m now in my 60’s and still working as a secretary.
I've already paid thousands of dollars, but still owe more than I can possibly pay. Please help. The total is more than the goal listed here, but I didn't want to list it because it changes over time. And I wanted to start fundraising with a more manageable amount. If you want to know the current total, feel free to contact me.
It was very difficult, deciding to go public. I have no other choice. I would pay these loans off if I could, but it's impossible. If I could go back in time, I never would have gone back to school. It’s the biggest regret of my life.
If you want to help and not have the fee charged by this site deducted from your gift, you can donate at keepjessicaafloat.com. But feel free to use this site to help if it works for you.
You can also read more about my story and student loans in general at keepjessicaafloat.com. Don't want to visit another site, but would like to donate by check? You can mail it to: Jessica Hopkins, PO Box 235, Turner OR 97392. Every dime I receive goes toward these loans.
Or you can send a check directly to the loan servicer. Please say it's for Jessica Hopkins, account number 9360302845-1. Send it to Navient, PO Box 9500, Wilkes Barre, PA 18773-9500.
Thank you for reading my fundraiser. I greatly appreciate any help you can give, whether it is financial, sharing my fundraiser, or both. Thank you!
