Keep My Friend From Filing Bankruptcy
Organized by: Anonymous Friend
Last year,my very good friend quit her career of 10 years to pursue her dreams. After what appeared to be a very lucrative endeavor, this Spring really went the downhill with a significant loss in seasonal sales. I tried to tell her that $6,000 wasn't worth a bankruptcy, but she is at her wit's end; countless job applications, asking her parents and friends, and even going to the bank have all been fruitless endeavors for her. What I'd really like to do is raise awareness for a genuinely good person. She volunteers to help struggling LGBT teens, she donates a portion of her income to charity, and she's one of the most tenacious people I've ever known when it comes to executing any goal she places for herself. She is well-known in our large community for her business and products, but has yet to tell anyone of these hardships (she's a very proud woman and doesn't like people to see her when she's suffering). She called me this morning, crying and didn't know what to do. It is just heart-wrenching to see such a good person, who's put so much work and love into her environment, suffer because of a relatively negligible amount. She inspires so many people around her to take chances and live their dreams; she doesn't deserve this. She's behind on all of her bills, her water was turned off (I footed the bill for that), and she's at risk for losing her very modest town home. All I'm asking for is for anyone who's been in this position to consider the difference you could make in someone's life who's made such a huge difference in all the lives that surround her. I just want her to see that somebody out there cares, even when she fails to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm humbly begging you to consider any donation that would allow her to continue her hard work and live without fear of losing everything. Thank you so much for reading and for your consideration.
