BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
EVENT: T2T Tower Climb 2015
EVENT DATE: May 17, 2015
My Freedom Climb is inspired by my husband, Keith Hanson, a Marine Corp veteran and current Bridgeport, Connecticut police officer. I have proudly stood by his side through bootcamp, a deployment to Iraq and every day since. I have seen the fearless sacrifices he's made and the risks he's taken to ensure our safety and freedom on a daily basis. There is nothing that I respect more than the men and women who serve their country and communities, and the families that support them. These heroes should be honored and celebrated every day. And I am honored to be making this monumental climb for a monumental cause!
I hope to get your support and pledge to match $1 for every $10 donation that we receive to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation up towards our goal of $2,000!
The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. They continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially adapted smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members. In January 2015, the Foundation also raised over one million dollars to fully pay off the mortgages for the families of brutally slain NYPD Officers Wenjian Liu and Luis Ramos.
