On June 25th we'll be Climbing 4 Life! As many of you know I am the former Executive Director for HERA and while I no longer work there I am still committed to their cause of funding scientific research in the fight against ovarian cancer. In fact I still make a monthly donation! Last year Joseph spent weeks as a volunteer working on Climb4Life - Boulder.
Why? Both Joseph and I believe that HERA is making a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer. One in 75 women will be diagnosed ~ many will succumb to the disease because it is so aggressive. Please donate to our Team BlackFox today…a gift of $40 or more will get us to our collective goal of raising $500. A donation of any size is appreciated. Do it for the women and girls in your life so that science finds a better early detection system. Thank you!
Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent killer” because the early symptoms are subtle and difficult to diagnose. If caught early enough, many women survive, but without an early detection test and awareness of the symptoms, another 15,000 women will die from this disease this year. One in 72 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in their lifetime. Which means the odds are that someone in your life will be affected by this disease. You can help change this story from tragedy to hope by participating in Climb4Life Boulder.
The funds you raise will help HERA Women's Cancer Foundation make grants to Johns Hopkins University researchers and the dream team at Stand Up To Cancer that HERA is collaboratively funding to find a cure and more effective diagnosis of ovarian cancer. It will also help us raise awareness of the sometimes elusive signs and symptoms of this insidious disease.
